This weekend I think we should talk about a couple major things for healthier hair: ~Everyday Things That Damage Hair ~Quick Tips ~Salon Trips/Coloring ~Fish Oil Talk There are so many things that damage your hair that are completely oblivious to many people. Things as simple as your hair brushing against your clothes! I know isn't that crazy? There are ways to avoid these simple but frustrating things as easy as wearing your hair back! On YouTube, you can find different stylish or chic tutorials for ponytails, buns, or creative ways to pull your hair out of your face. http://www.wikihow.com/Take-Care-of-Your-Hair I love looking at wiki how pages! Not only are they easy to follow along with, but it's such an amazing way to figure out new ideas and try out their own advice. I really like this page in specific because it's loaded with information. After looking through the steps, to me all of them make sense! One thing I'd like to point out is how many, many people say you should get your hair cut every month. Do not do that! People only say that because the only way to remove split ends is to cut them off. So my best advice is to only get a hair trim when you know you need it! Be very specific how you want it, I can not stress that enough! Don't go to the salon and say," I need a trim." Most likely, you'll lose 2 or 3 inches of your progress! Tell the hair dresser only cut off split ends. Maybe a half inch for a check in or as much as you think you need to have them cut. Personally, I've had some crazy trips to the hair salon and I've decided to cut my own hair. I've been trimming and coloring my own hair since 7th grade (unless it was something I can't do such as highlights). CAUTION: Store bought coloring kits are so damaging to hair ( all coloring is), going to the salon is better, because they actually mix the coloring products without so many harsh chemicals. From my own experience, the nicer the salon, the longer the color lasts. The way I trim my hair is called dusting. You trim off only your split ends. I do color my hair, so of course it's damaged.. But thanks to the fish oil my roots are so much healthier! My natural hair grows in much thicker and vibrant. I brush my roots every night and morning, so I know that's helping out too. Brushing your roots, an easy way to explain it, is like growing a plant. You have to take care of the soil first to get a healthy, beautiful flower! And when that flower finally grows, it'll all be worth it. |

My name is Jaclynn and this is my blog for hair/skin care. I'll be posting weekly things about my favorite products, testing out different ones, and trying different vitamins. My hair currently is about a foot and a half long and I use 2 different shampoos and conditioners. For shampoo I use the John Freida Full Repair shampoo and an argan oil shampoo I got from the local Sally's. For conditioner I use the John Freida Full Repair conditioner and when my hair feels dry a use a deep conditioning coconut oil hair masque (which smells amazing). Just using those alone my hair is soft and healthier with little breakage. I'm trying to grow my hair out and my goal is to my belly button. For this weeks experiment I'll be taking a fish oil vitamin everyday and I'll tell you what I notice within a week. But remember, as the blogs add on, I'll continue to use the products/vitamins that I feel work best for good results. Which is why if maybe the vitamins don't have a full effect within a week perhaps I'll test out a product. With that said, signing off for the night. See you next week (:
